About The Position

Watkins & Eager is a full-service law firm of approximately 60 lawyers serving clients across a broad range of industries and practice areas. The firm is seeking a strategic, energetic, creative and highly organized Business Development Coordinator to join our team. This executive-level position works closely with firm leadership and individual attorneys to support and implement the firm’s strategic business development objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or above
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in business development or marketing within a law firm (20+ attorneys) or other professional services environment is recommended
  • High level of proficiency in the MS Office suite of products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint and with online and social media marketing
  • Exceptional communication skills, including listening, writing, proofreading and editing and superior attention to detail
  • Must be able to able to handle sensitive matters with excellent judgment and confidentiality
  • Strong work ethic and positive client service orientation
  • Dedication for the development of a professional services business development career
  • Must be able to handle multiple projects with tight deadlines
  • Poised and able to exhibit professional diplomacy amid high stress situations
  • Strong teamwork skills and ability to take ownership of numerous assigned tasks and work with multiple lawyers across multiple practice areas in full-service law firm environment

Responsibilities

  • Partner with firm management and individual attorneys to develop and manage business development and marketing initiatives, including client outreach, cross-marketing, team building and client events
  • Support individual lawyers in creating and executing personalized business development and marketing plans
  • Assist lawyers with activities related to client relations and firm promotion such as media relations, client events and other business development tasks as identified
  • Plan and manage all aspects of client development events, from concept to execution including attendance and participation in such events where appropriate
  • Oversee strategic and long-term planning for the firm and its attorneys related to business development efforts, professional activities and community and business-related sponsorships and community engagement initiatives
  • Assist the firm with recruiting efforts and professional networking
  • Develop, update, and maintain firm marketing materials, including attorney biographies, practice area content, client proposals and presentations
  • Coordinate and prepare submissions for legal directories, rankings and industry publications
  • Assist with firm marketing materials, print materials and firm brand awareness
  • Collaborate with firm management on website content, design updates, and development of the firm’s social and digital media strategy.
  • Track, measure and report on key performance metrics related to business development and marketing efforts
  • Manage responses to RFPs/RFIs and assist in the creation of client-facing business development materials
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, client opportunities, and strategic growth areas
