About The Position

As a Business Development Representative (BDR), you'll be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with prospective customers, and creating qualified sales opportunities for our Territory Account Managers. You'll learn the fundamentals of industrial and technical sales while gaining exposure to manufacturing, engineering, and customer relationship management. This role is designed for someone who is motivated, curious, and excited about building a long-term career in sales. You'll receive hands-on training, mentorship, and opportunities to grow into more advanced sales roles, including Territory Account Manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree in Business, Sales or Technical Discipline or related field required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales or Technical Discipline, or related field preferred.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in business development, sales, customer service.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable initiating conversations and building new relationships.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Research prospective customers, industries, and target markets.
  • Identify and engage potential customers through phone calls, email campaigns, networking, and social media outreach.
  • Qualify leads and uncover customer needs, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Schedule meetings and introductions for Territory Account Managers.
  • Initiate conversations with engineers, buyers, operations leaders, and decision-makers.
  • Develop professional relationships with prospective customers and industry contacts.
  • Represent Sealing Devices professionally in all interactions.
  • Assist in developing target account strategies and prospecting plans.
  • Maintain accurate prospect and customer information within CRM systems.
  • Support sales campaigns, trade shows, customer events, and marketing initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Territory Account Managers to identify growth opportunities.
  • Develop knowledge of Sealing Devices' products, fabrication capabilities, services, and target industries.
  • Gain exposure to technical sales processes, customer presentations, and account management strategies.
  • Participate in ongoing sales training and professional development programs.
