About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Business Data Analyst to support large-scale enterprise data initiatives within the Property and Casualty (P&C) Insurance domain. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with SQL, data analysis, data mapping, transformation, and source-to-target mapping. This role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, subject-matter experts, data engineers, developers, and data modelers to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and alignment with policy and claims processes.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in business data analysis, mapping, and transformation.
Strong SQL skills, including analytical functions, query optimization, and performance tuning.
Hands-on experience creating STTM documents.
Good understanding of ETL processes and enterprise data flows.
Experience consolidating and standardizing data from multiple sources.
Strong knowledge of the P&C Insurance domain, including policy and claims data.
Excellent stakeholder-management, communication, analytical, and documentation skills.
Ability to work onsite in Jersey City 3–4 days per week.

Responsibilities

Perform data profiling, analysis, validation, and transformation for enterprise data integration and reporting projects.
Create source-to-target mapping (STTM) documents based on business and technical requirements.
Gather and translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications.
Partner with data engineers to implement and validate data consolidation, standardization, and transformation rules.
Develop and optimize complex SQL queries for large datasets.
Conduct data-quality assessments and recommend cleansing and enrichment strategies.
Apply P&C Insurance knowledge across policy administration and claims lifecycles.
Coordinate with business SMEs, data modelers, and technical teams to support successful data delivery.
Prepare clear business requirements, mapping documents, data dictionaries, and technical documentation.
