Actuarial Analyst - Commercial P&C Insurance

EPIC Brokers•San Francisco, CA
•$150,000 - $200,000•Hybrid

About The Position

EPIC Insurance Brokers & Consultants is hiring an Actuarial Analyst to build pricing models for commercial property insurance and support casualty lines. The role builds, validates, and maintains actuarial, statistical, and catastrophe models used to price risk, then translates model results into recommendations brokers can use with risk managers and CFOs. Property pricing and modeling experience is required; current property experience and the ACAS credential are preferred but not required. This is a hands-on modeling role focused on working with policy information, exposures, loss runs, and other datasets to benchmark risk, assess pricing, and support clients preparing for renewal. The analyst will work with a geographically dispersed group of 10+ actuaries, with a core group in New York City, and collaborate with producers, property practice leaders, clients, and technical colleagues. The position is hybrid, with three to five days per week in an EPIC office in New York City, San Francisco, or Seattle. The role also involves preparing client-ready presentations and written explanations, participating in new-business proposals and prospect meetings, and documenting models so they are auditable and maintainable. EPIC expects the analyst to use AI tools to support data preparation, coding, drafting, and model testing, while applying judgment to verify results.
