About The Position

Volvo Group is seeking a Business Control Intern to work with production teams in its Powertrain Industrial Organization. This internship offers experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with a focus on production efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement. The intern will apply analytical skills and a continuous-improvement mindset while contributing to production projects and business operations. Interns may work up to 30 hours per week during the spring semester.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in and pursuing a business-related degree at an accredited school.
Completed at least 30 semester hours of undergraduate studies before the internship begins.
Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75.
Strong communication skills.
Valid U.S. work authorization.
Attention to detail, teamwork, effective communication, dependability, reliability, and flexibility.

Nice To Haves

Preferred area of specialization: Finance.

Responsibilities

Drive lean methodology.
Analyze data and support quality improvement, with a focus on standards and repeatability.
Review and improve quality and production processes.
Facilitate continuous improvement and identify opportunities for implementation.
Participate in project planning, implementation, and improvements.
Work with production teams to reduce non-value-added activities.
Assist with follow-up, reports, and flow charts.
Participate in functional meetings.
Create data visualizations using tools such as Microsoft Power BI.
Assist in business case development.
Help reduce waste and increase business efficiency.
