About The Position

C3 AI is seeking a Business Applications Manager in Redwood City, California. This role is responsible for the end-to-end ownership of the company's business applications portfolio, which includes administration, integrations, SOX change management, access governance, and vendor relationships. The portfolio is anchored by NetSuite and Atlassian, and includes other systems like OpenAir, Coupa, SAP Concur, FloQast, Workiva, Varicent, Ironclad, Brex, and Avalara. This is a hands-on senior role focused on working directly within the systems, serving as a liaison between Finance, Accounting, Legal, and IT. The ideal candidate is a deep NetSuite administrator with experience in SOX-regulated change management and a strong ability to communicate with business stakeholders and deliver accurate changes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years administering business applications, with 3+ years of hands-on NetSuite administration (roles, permissions, workflows, saved searches, SuiteScript).
  • Experience running change management and user access controls in a SOX-regulated environment.
  • Working knowledge of at least three additional systems in our portfolio or their direct equivalents (PSA, procure-to-pay, expense, close management, contract lifecycle, or incentive compensation tools).
  • Jira and Confluence administration experience, including Jira Service Management.
  • Experience with SSO (SAML/OIDC) and SCIM provisioning, ideally with Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Scripting ability for integrations and automation; JavaScript/Python preferred.
  • Proven ability to gather requirements from Finance and Accounting stakeholders and translate them into system changes.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; you document what you build.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future company sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • NetSuite Administrator or SuiteFoundation certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day administration and health of the business applications portfolio, with NetSuite as the center of gravity.
  • Run the SOX change management process end to end: scope requests with business owners, build and configure in test, coordinate user acceptance testing, secure Controller approval, deploy to production, and validate post-go-live.
  • Build and maintain integrations between applications (NetSuite SuiteScript/SuiteTalk, REST APIs, middleware) with sound token management and data handling.
  • Own access governance: SSO and SCIM provisioning through Microsoft Entra, quarterly SOX user access reviews, own provisioning in systems and closing manual deprovisioning gaps on applications without SCIM.
  • Drive SSO enablement for remaining non-SSO applications and improve the security posture of the portfolio.
  • Manage the business applications request backlog in Jira: triage, prioritize with stakeholders, and communicate delivery timelines.
  • Support external audits (SOX, SOC 1) with evidence for change management and access controls.
  • Automate repetitive administration through scripting and APIs.

Benefits

  • excellent benefits
  • a competitive compensation package
  • generous equity plan
