Business and Finance Summer Student Employment Opportunities

Government of SaskatchewanRegina, SK

About The Position

The Government of Saskatchewan is one of the largest student employers in the province, providing approximately 1000 students with summer work opportunities each year. Students who apply to this application form may be referred for opportunities in any of our ministries, to support programs in a variety of areas such as research, planning, accounting, human resources, communications, or client service. Typically, these opportunities are based in an office environment. Our central Summer Student Program database contains 11 different application forms that students can submit, based on the nature of summer student work that the Government of Saskatchewan offers. Students can submit one or multiple application forms depending on their interests, qualifications, and experience, and will receive a confirmation email once each application form is submitted. As a summer student job becomes available, the hiring manager submits a request for students to the Summer Student Program Coordinator. The Summer Student Program Coordinator searches the central database for students who match the position’s requirements, and refers them to the hiring manager for consideration. Managers only contact those students they wish to interview/assess. Due to the volume of students who apply, not all students can be contacted. The Government of Saskatchewan provides the services, programs and supports the people of Saskatchewan need. We deliver on the Saskatchewan Plan for Growth to build a strong economy, strong communities and strong families, ultimately building a stronger Saskatchewan. Dedicated to service excellence, we demonstrate innovation, collaboration and transparency, practice effective and accountable use of resources and promote engagement and leadership at all levels. The Ministry of Social Services supports vulnerable people and families as they build a better quality of life. We help people with their immediate needs and provide supports for: families to safely care for their children, children and youth in care to be successful, people with disabilities to access community-based services, access to affordable housing, and income assistance to meet people’s basic needs as they work to become self-sufficient to the best of their abilities. Together with Indigenous and community partners, we work to make a positive difference in the lives of our clients every day.
