About The Position

LANXESS is seeking a Business Analyst to join their team. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders to understand business needs, defining analysis scope and objectives for cross-departmental projects, and analyzing financial data for month-end preparations. The Business Analyst will generate financial reports for sales and operations, calculate business KPIs, and maintain management dashboards for the Americas region. Additionally, the role requires analyzing market trends, competitor activities, and customer insights, coordinating annual sales and spend budget processes, optimizing forecast accuracy, and coordinating price changes. This position is based in Pittsburgh and is a regular employee type.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, MIS, or similar
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Power user of software applications such as SAP, Business Warehouse, Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI (or similar analytics platform), and dashboard creation to consolidate, model, analyze and report
  • Attention to detail and data discipline, analytical thinking and structured problem solving, comfort with ambiguity, decisive recommendations, prioritization under deadlines, and responsiveness
  • Well versed in IFRS, GAAP, company financial policies and/or accounting theory and concepts
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication and presentation skills. Diverse cross-functional collaboration required.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and define analysis scope and objectives for cross departmental projects.
  • Analyze financial data for month close preparations, generate financial reports for sales and operations, calculate business KPIs, and maintain management dashboards for the Americas region.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer insights by blending quantitative and qualitative research with data visualization to provide actionable reports for sales management.
  • Coordinate annual sales and spend budget processes by creating planning templates, collaborating with respective segment managers, and entering aligned figures into databases as necessary.
  • Optimize forecast accuracy by cleaning historical data, integrating real-time insights, using advanced technology tools, and fostering collaboration across commercial and supply chain departments.
  • Coordinate price changes by maintaining price lists and approvals, tracking profitability and change implementation, and recommending opportunities for price increases or promotions.
