About The Position

The Enterprise Quality team at BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee (BCBST) is seeking a technically proficient Business Analyst with a strong foundation in data reporting, systems configuration, process improvement, and compliance. This role is critical to supporting gap identification and gap‑closure initiatives through the timely delivery of accurate, high‑quality data. The analyst is responsible for pulling, validating, and preparing complex data files and orders for multiple external vendors, with deliverables that are time‑sensitive and directly impact compliance, quality performance, and operational outcomes. In addition to vendor data support, this role produces and maintains key operational and performance reports, delivering actionable analytics that inform leadership decisions and drive continuous improvement. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required. Equivalent experience is defined as 4 years of professional work experience in a corporate environment
  • 3 years - Technical or operational experience required
  • Database reporting skills utilizing Access, Cognos and data warehouse
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or function in a team environment sharing responsibility, roles and accountability.
  • Analytical and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint)
  • Must be a team player, be organized and have the ability to handle multiple projects
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Experience developing, validating, and maintaining reports and dashboards using Tableau, with a strong understanding of data visualization best practices
  • Working knowledge of SQL for querying, validating, and analyzing large datasets to support reporting and operational insights
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, data validation, and efficient data manipulation techniques
  • Demonstrated experience translating business requirements into actionable reporting and insights for operational and leadership audiences

Responsibilities

  • Design, development, assessment, and implementation of organizational management projects, policies, and/or procedures.
  • Identifying business process improvement projects for internal business groups, and making recommendations to management on efficiencies.
  • Conducting cost/benefit evaluations on various external and internal resources.
  • Analyzing business requirements and production specifications to improve the effectiveness of the organization's management operations.
  • Pulling, validating, and preparing complex data files and orders for multiple external vendors.
  • Producing and maintaining key operational and performance reports.
  • Delivering actionable analytics that inform leadership decisions and drive continuous improvement.
