About The Position

Virginia Tax is seeking a Business Analyst to support our paper return and payment processing operations. This position serves as the business analyst for the processing of paper tax returns, payments and documents, both business and individual, within the prescribed standards of timeliness and accuracy. Tax Processing is responsible for the annual processing of over 14 million tax returns and 8 million payments which help ensure refunds are issued timely and critical Government operations, such as education, public safety, and programs for those in need, received the necessary funding. As a Business Analyst, you would become part of a dedicated team. You would provide support by: Reviewing and testing forms to ensure vendor submissions meet departmental standards. Create training manuals and job aids based on legislation and process improvements. Providing production support by responding to inquiries, analyzing, reporting and recommending solutions. Developing business requirements and test scripting for system modifications. Providing functional analysis and testing support. Run daily reports and reconcile results. Join Virginia Tax and support our e-File return processing system and activities by: Researching, gathering data and documenting results. Performing business analysis and problem solving. Developing instructions and guides. Testing software applications. Developing and maintaining documentation. This position is located in Richmond, VA at our Westmoreland Street location. This position will become eligible for up to two telework days per week after first year of employment is completed.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and experience in Business Analysis
  • Experience researching, gathering data, documenting and reporting results
  • Ability to analyze information, assess, draw conclusions and make recommendations
  • Experience developing instructions and guides
  • Experience with testing software applications, systems and/or processes
