About The Position

The Business Analyst will be working in the Financial Planning and Analysis group, which is an integral business unit of Steel Reef Infrastructure Corp. The primary responsibilities of this position will be maintaining and building financial models, providing financial updates to senior management and working with key functional groups across the business to deliver accurate and timely financial forecasts and analysis. The Business Analyst will report to the Team Lead, Revenue & Fees and is located at our Calgary office.

Requirements

  • Post-Secondary education in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in an accounting or finance role
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex financial data and communicate results effectively
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with cross functional teams
  • Advanced Microsoft Excell skills

Nice To Haves

  • A designation (or working towards) such as CPA or CFA is preferred
  • Experience with Quorum TIPs/Pandell JV and/or PowerBI would be considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Review monthly revenue and fee billings to ensure volumes, fee rates, and marketing pricing are accurate and appropriately reflected in monthly statements
  • Partner with the Commercial team to execute new Gas Handling Agreements, including setting up contract terms in the production accounting system (TIPS) and updating any fee or revenue impacts resulting from agreement changes
  • Review assigned property performance to analyze variances between actuals and forecasts for revenue and operating costs, and provide insights to support management decision-making
  • Prepare forecasts and budgets for assigned properties, working closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure an efficient process with the appropriate level of detail
  • Review annual operating costs and throughput volumes, and prepare 13th-month adjustments and equalizations
  • Lead monthly Opex and AFE accruals, ensuring variances between actuals and forecasts are identified, understood, and appropriately explained
  • Respond to customer inquiries related to JIB billings by providing supporting documentation and coordinating with internal teams as needed
  • Follow up with customers on outstanding balances and collaborate with internal teams to ensure accounts receivable are current
  • Support and coordinate Joint Venture audits, including timely follow-up on auditor information requests
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations and reporting
  • Collaborate closely with Commercial, Operations, and Marketing teams to support accurate reporting and business outcomes
