About The Position

The Business System Analyst Intern reports to the IS&S Program/Project Management Office and assists with successful project delivery and departmental efforts. The intern supports PMO administrative activities, project management tool use, business requirement collection, project reporting, system support, resource planning, and meeting planning. The position provides a student with the opportunity to practice business analysis skills at the enterprise level.

The internship includes a dedicated mentor and opportunities to work cross-functionally at Allison Transmission’s Global Headquarters. Additional activities include a students-versus-mentors softball and kickball tournament, community service day, leadership meet-and-greet event, and an Allison Transmission Vehicle Ride & Drive on the test track.

Requirements

• Be currently enrolled in a four-year program; no prior experience is required.
• Have a strong desire to learn about IT business analysis, program management, or project management and the ability to work in a team environment.
• Be proficient in computer operation, including Microsoft Office tools.
• Be an undergraduate or graduate student with 1–3 years at an accredited college or university, pursuing a degree in Information Management Systems, Computer Science, Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Work with IS&S PMO Senior Business System Analysts and cross-functional teams to distill complex system and data-driven challenges into business requirements.
• Interface with business users and technical development teams to deliver solutions.
• Assist project teams with the coordination, administration, and tracking of multiple enterprise technology projects.
• Use project management tools to track, monitor, and report project status.
• Perform other responsibilities with similar skills, work conditions, and responsibilities as assigned.
