Business Analyst I - OEM

Tekion
$82,125 - $136,500Remote

About The Position

We're looking for a Business Analyst to join our OEM team and help shape how Tekion delivers data and insights across the business. This is a hands-on role for someone who loves working with data, gets excited about the auto industry, and wants real ownership early in their career. You'll partner with Product, Data Engineering, Analytics, and business stakeholders to turn questions into answers — defining the metrics, building the logic, validating the data, and shaping the analytical frameworks that help our teams, OEM partners, and dealers make smarter decisions. If you're someone who likes to dig in, figure things out, and grow alongside the work, you'll fit right in.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Data Science, Data Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, or a closely related field required
  • 4+ years in business analysis, analytics, strategy, product analytics, or a similar role
  • Strong automotive industry knowledge — you understand OEM and dealer dynamics, dealership operations, vehicle and sales data, or related automotive domains
  • Solid SQL skills and experience working across multiple data sources
  • A knack for turning fuzzy business problems into clear requirements and real deliverables
  • Experience defining and documenting KPIs and business rules
  • Sharp problem-solving skills, great attention to detail, and a bias toward action
  • Strong communicator — you can explain the logic and the takeaway to both technical and business audiences
  • Comfort in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with automotive data sources (DMS, CRM, OEM reporting, or third-party automotive datasets)
  • Background in retail technology, SaaS, or mobility-adjacent industries
  • Familiarity with BI tools like ThoughtSpot, Spotter, or Tableau
  • Experience supporting enterprise data products or analytics platforms
  • Experience maintaining competitive benchmarking or product comparison frameworks

Responsibilities

  • Support analytical workstreams across a range of data and analytics initiatives
  • Turn business questions into clear data requirements, KPI definitions, and reporting logic
  • Document the business rules, metric definitions, and assumptions behind our analytics
  • Help build and maintain foundational analytical assets — hierarchies, segmentation frameworks, benchmarking dimensions, and business reference data
  • Investigate discrepancies, spot data gaps, and help build trust in our core metrics
  • Partner closely with Product, Data Engineering, and business stakeholders to move work from idea to execution
  • Bring structure to ambiguous problems with support from senior team members
  • Create analyses, requirement docs, and summaries used by cross-functional teams and leadership
  • Help shape repeatable processes that make analytics easier and more consistent over time
  • Help maintain competitive and market benchmarking materials
  • Refresh benchmarking to reflect shifts in market capabilities and competitor moves
  • Help make sure market context is feeding into planning and prioritization

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation and generous stock options
  • 100% employer-paid top-of-the-line medical, dental and vision coverage
  • Great benefits including unlimited PTO, parental leave and free snacks and beverages
  • The opportunity to work with some of the brightest minds from Silicon Valley’s most dominant and successful companies
  • Be part of an early stage, hyper-growth start-up with the opportunity to grow and prosper
  • Work on the latest and coolest technologies – everything is home-grown and built ground-up
  • A dynamic work environment with a strong sense of community and collaboration
  • The open and transparent culture that encourages innovation, rewards performance and discourages hierarchy
  • Exciting opportunities for career growth and development
