About The Position

The Business Analyst will work on existing and new initiatives including but not limited to Assessment Management System, Telecommunication Company Information, Pipeline Audit System (PAS), Document and Matter Management (DMM), and 753 Enforcement support, enhancements, and development efforts. This role requires the use of recognized business analysis methodologies to elicit requirements from business users for the project. The analyst will facilitate and guide requirements sessions with IT and DPS business staff, communicate business process requirements to IT staff, program staff, and stakeholders, and develop and document Business Requirements using defined ITS templates and standards. Additionally, the role involves developing, analyzing, and revising system diagrams, ensuring requirements and deliverables are verified and validated, tracking and documenting changes for specifications, writing detailed procedures, and participating in developing test plans and overseeing system changes to ensure user and program requirements are met.

Requirements

• 8 years experienced candidate needed.
• Local to Albany, NY only.
• Possession of a valid (active) IIBA CBAP certification or a PMI PBA certification is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Use recognized business analysis methodologies to elicit requirements from business users for the project.
• Facilitate and guide requirements sessions with IT and DPS business staff.
• Communicate the business process requirements to IT staff, program staff and stakeholder.
• Develop and document Business Requirements for the project using defined ITS template and standards.
• Develop, analyze and revise system diagrams (flowcharts, state diagrams, strategy maps, etc.) as needed on the project.
• Ensure that requirements and deliverables are verified and validated at each phase of analysis and testing.
• Track and fully document changes for functional and business specifications; write detailed procedures for permanent records and for use in training.
• Participate in developing test plans for the project and in overseeing system changes or enhancements, to ensure user and program requirements are met.
