About The Position

The Bus Up-Fit Technician is an entry-level technician/mechanic responsible for installing and modifying components on buses and equipment. The role includes repairing basic mechanical and electrical issues on new buses, charging air-conditioning systems, installing fire-suppression systems, modifying or fabricating components to fit, and conducting bus pre-delivery inspections. The technician also follows company safety procedures and standards and performs other administrative duties assigned by the manager.

Successful candidates can operate hand and power tools, wire components according to drawings, understand air-conditioning systems, and measure and cut to specifications. They should be quality-minded, attentive to detail, and able to work with a team in a fast-paced environment. Candidates are expected to furnish their own basic hand and power tools.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools and furnish basic hand and power tools to complete assigned tasks.
• Ability to wire components according to drawings.
• Understanding of how air-conditioning systems operate.
• Ability to measure and cut to specifications.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team.
• Quality-minded with attention to detail.

• Prior experience in a shop setting.
