Bus Monitor
About The Position
The Out-of-Door Academy seeks a Bus Monitor to support a thriving school committed to providing a relevant and student-centered learning experience. The Bus Monitor provides oversight of students before and during transportation on scheduled routes, field trips, and special events; assists students with loading and unloading; and supports the driver as needed. The role reports to the Transportation Coordinator and is an hourly, non-exempt, part-time position available immediately. Compensation is highly competitive and commensurate with experience. The successful candidate will live the school’s mission and core values of respect, integrity, service, excellence, and responsibility. After an offer is accepted, employment requires successful completion of a national background screening and drug testing, as well as a psychological evaluation.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Commitment to safety and customer service.
- Ability to maintain a calm presence at all times.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Genuine, caring attitude toward children.
- Successful completion of a national background screening, drug testing, and psychological evaluation after accepting an offer.
Responsibilities
- Provide oversight of students before and during transport on scheduled routes, field trips, and special events.

- Provide support and assistance to the driver as needed.
