[2026-27] Bus Monitor (starting $18 per hour)
About The Position
As a KIPP ENC school bus monitor, you will comply with all NC School Bus Safety laws in accordance with the NC Department of Transportation. You will be responsible for providing a safe, healthy, consistent, and positive environment for children and staff, fostering a positive student culture, and ensuring happy and healthy students and parents. This role requires reporting to work daily and on time, assisting the bus driver in maintaining discipline, monitoring and assisting students while the bus is in operation, and ensuring the proper securing of seat belts, harnesses, and wheelchair clamps. You will also assist parents and school personnel with the safe loading and unloading of students, coordinate seating for pre-kindergarten students, and maintain current knowledge of Emergency Evacuation procedures. Establishing and maintaining cooperative and effective working relationships with others is also a key aspect of this position.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED Certificate
- Able to follow oral and written directions
- Knowledge of safe practices concerning school bus transportation
- Ability to communicate effectively
