About The Position

Assist challenging students being transported to and from school as well as performing related work activities in a safe and timely manner. This is a 180-day position for the 2026-2027 School Year with 6 hours per day guaranteed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Must be 18 years of age
• Valid Texas Commercial Driver's License with a "P and S" endorsement
• Must attend in-service training classes and safety meetings
• Prolonged sitting
• Frequent standing and twisting
• Occasional kneeling/squatting, bending, stooping, and pushing/pulling
• Prolonged driving
• Moderate walking
• Frequent climbing stairs, grasping/squeezing, wrist and shoulder flexion/extension, and reaching
• Frequent heavy lifting (45 pounds or over) and positioning of students with physical disabilities, controlling behavior through physical restraint, assisting nonambulatory students, and lifting and moving adaptive equipment
• Frequent exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, noise, and vehicle fumes
• Work around moving vehicles
• Regularly work irregular hours
• Occasionally work prolonged hours

Nice To Haves

• Three current references, including your current principal or supervisor, must be received for your application to be complete.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining, reading and understanding route sheets including time changes
• Exercising student management through correct use of communication and discipline
• Report discipline problems through proper school district procedures
• Assist in the inspection of each vehicle before and after each trip using correct procedures and completing proper district documents.
