About The Position

Our school bus drivers impact students’ lives by inspecting the bus before and after each route, maintaining a clean and mechanically sound bus at all times, and transporting children to and from school in the mornings and afternoons. They must obey all traffic laws and policies related to bus safety & operations, attend bus safety meetings, and maintain the safety and development of the students. Additionally, drivers are expected to establish high expectations for each student and support their academic, social, and emotional development. They participate in the life of the school, including student activities and events, and embody, advocate, and operationalize the mission, vision, and direction of the school. Other tasks may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

Believe in the mission and values of Crescent City Schools
Are 23 years old or older
Hold a current and valid driver’s license with a minimum of the past 3 years
Have the ability to obtain and maintain a Class B CDL with proper endorsements
Can pass a background check, DOT drug screening, DOT physical, DOT Clearinghouse Check, MVR, and appropriate training

Responsibilities

Inspecting the bus before and after each route; maintaining a clean and mechanically sound bus at all times
Transporting children to and from school in the mornings and afternoons
Obeying all traffic laws and policies related to bus safety & operations
Attending bus safety meetings
Maintaining the safety and development of the students
Establishing high expectations for each student and supporting their academic, social, and emotional development
Participating in the life of the school, including student activities and events
Embodying, advocating, and operationalizing the mission, vision, and direction of the school
Taking on other tasks as needed
