Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency credential.
- At least 1 year of bus driving experience, including transporting passengers.
- Complete driver training courses within required timeframe and have obtained a Certificate of Completion (Defensive Driving, Passenger Assistance and Emergency Evacuation).
- Ability to be polite and courteous at all times in dealing with passengers and negotiating traffic.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Valid NHDOT medical card required.
- Must pass Agency Drug & Alcohol pre-employment testing to be qualified.
- Required to participate in random drug and alcohol testing as established by Agency Drug & Alcohol policies for safety sensitive employees.
- Must successfully complete criminal record and driver record checks.
- Access to reliable transportation is required, as some travel within the community will be necessary.
Responsibilities
- Operating small buses (less than 16 passengers) in the provision of transportation services to passengers with regard to their safety, confidence and comfort.
- Obey all applicable local, State and Federal laws and regulations.
- Operating vehicles maintaining high safety standards and passenger confidence.
- Following established routes and schedules in a timely manner.
- Being responsible for accurate communication pertaining to changes in passenger itinerary.
- Recording and reporting transportation data, as required.
- Maintaining proper vehicle appearance and cleanliness, inside and out including possessing sensitivity to vehicle performance and limitations.
- Follow established policies and procedures and comply with all safety requirements.
- Assists passengers with disabilities.
