Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency credential.
  • At least 1 year of bus driving experience, including transporting passengers.
  • Complete driver training courses within required timeframe and have obtained a Certificate of Completion (Defensive Driving, Passenger Assistance and Emergency Evacuation).
  • Ability to be polite and courteous at all times in dealing with passengers and negotiating traffic.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Valid NHDOT medical card required.
  • Must pass Agency Drug & Alcohol pre-employment testing to be qualified.
  • Required to participate in random drug and alcohol testing as established by Agency Drug & Alcohol policies for safety sensitive employees.
  • Must successfully complete criminal record and driver record checks.
  • Access to reliable transportation is required, as some travel within the community will be necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Operating small buses (less than 16 passengers) in the provision of transportation services to passengers with regard to their safety, confidence and comfort.
  • Obey all applicable local, State and Federal laws and regulations.
  • Operating vehicles maintaining high safety standards and passenger confidence.
  • Following established routes and schedules in a timely manner.
  • Being responsible for accurate communication pertaining to changes in passenger itinerary.
  • Recording and reporting transportation data, as required.
  • Maintaining proper vehicle appearance and cleanliness, inside and out including possessing sensitivity to vehicle performance and limitations.
  • Follow established policies and procedures and comply with all safety requirements.
  • Assists passengers with disabilities.
