About The Position

The San Juan Unified School District is hiring one permanent, part-time Bus Driver for its Transportation Department. The position is scheduled for six hours per day (0.75 FTE), Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM. The work year is 10 months, 212 days per year, on the district calendar (August 7 through June 21). The hourly salary is $23.18–$29.13, according to the Transportation Salary Schedule. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications and submit all required documents with their application. Selected candidates are subject to drug and alcohol testing and may be required to pass a district-sponsored physical examination, including a back evaluation, conducted by a district-authorized physician before employment.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Experience driving a school bus under a wide variety of driving, weather, and road conditions.
Work history demonstrating dependability and reliability.
Good driving record.
Must qualify for district insurance coverage.
Submit a valid California Class A or B driver's license with the application.
Submit a valid medical certificate and medical card with the application.
Submit a current H-6 DMV print-out covering the last 10 years with the application.
Submit a copy of a School Bus Driver Certificate issued by the California Highway Patrol with the application.
May be required to pass a district-sponsored physical examination, including a back evaluation, conducted by a district-authorized physician before employment.
Individuals selected for the position are subject to drug and alcohol testing.
