About The Position

This position offers the ability to work remotely three days per week with a Flexible/Hybrid work schedule. The Tax Compliance Bureau at Michigan Department of Treasury is looking for a dynamic leader with excellent leadership skills, strategic planning abilities, high ethical standards, and a positive attitude to join their team. This position serves as the Director of the Tax Compliance Bureau for the Department of Treasury. The Tax Compliance Bureau is responsible for the full administration of compliance activities including taxpayer audits, voluntary disclosure, fraud prevention and tax enforcement. This position is responsible for the establishment and implementation of standards, policies, procedures and protocols to increase compliance with Michigan’s tax laws. This position is also responsible for setting the strategic direction of the Bureau and ensure alignment with Treasury goals, champion efforts to continuously improve operations, customer service, and inclusion and diversity efforts. Requirements

  • Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
  • Two years of professional managerial experience. Qualifying professional experience is only considered post-bachelor's degree.
  • A position is considered professional if the job requires a bachelor's degree.
  • Must have a secure, safe and appropriate designated workspace that allows privacy and prevents distractions to perform the duties of this position.
  • Must have secure and sufficient internet access of commercial cable or wireless broadband with minimum speeds of 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.
  • Work must be performed in the state of Michigan. If you currently reside outside of Michigan, you must relocate to Michigan to perform the duties of this position prior to being appointed to the position.
  • The use of artificial intelligence (AI) software is prohibited.
