About The Position

The Bulk Manager at Sprouts Farmers Market oversees the maintenance, packaging, and stocking of bulk foods. The role ensures that bulk merchandise is prepared, packaged, priced, and presented accurately; that inventory is ordered and rotated; and that the department follows cleaning, sanitation, safety, health, Weights & Measures, and COOL requirements. The manager provides customer service, communicates department standards and product knowledge, and leads the team in delivering high-quality products and customer experiences. The position includes team leadership and store operations responsibilities: recruiting and hiring in collaboration with the Store Manager, making promotion and transfer decisions, coaching and evaluating team members, addressing concerns, and taking corrective action when needed. The Bulk Manager also creates and adjusts schedules and staffing levels, attends in-store meetings, receives and stocks merchandise, and may serve as a Key Carrier or Manager on Duty. Other related duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age.
Have 1–2 years of experience in a retail grocery environment and 1 year of managerial leadership experience.
Be dependable and reliable, and able to work a changing, flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
Possess working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals.
Demonstrate outgoing, friendly behavior and a positive attitude toward team members and customers.
Be able to move product weighing up to 50 pounds vertically and horizontally from 4 to 36 inches, over a distance of up to 4 feet, for up to 15 hours without mechanical assistance.
Be able to stand continuously for up to 4 hours, for a total of 8 hours per shift.

Responsibilities

Oversee maintenance, packaging, and stocking of all bulk foods.
Follow the Bulk merchandising plan and ensure team members package and scale items, fill bulk bins, and prepare, wrap, and price packages accurately and legibly.
Order and maintain inventory, rotate products using code dates, and follow cleaning and sanitation programs.
Ensure department compliance with company and governmental safety, health, Weights & Measures, and COOL regulations.
Communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members.
Provide a high level of customer service and lead the team in delivering quality products and customer experiences.
Ensure bulk items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented, and that the Bulk area remains clean and orderly.
Receive, unload, and stock merchandise as needed.
Coach, provide feedback to, and develop team members; conduct bi-annual performance reviews and recommend merit increases.
Attend and participate in in-store meetings.
Recruit and hire team members and make promotion or transfer decisions in collaboration with the Store Manager.
Exercise independent judgment when addressing team member concerns.
Document and take corrective action when needed, collaborating with business and HR partners on performance management, including coaching, counseling, progressive discipline, suspension, or termination.
Create and adjust schedules and staffing levels to support productivity and efficiency.
Serve as a Key Carrier and/or act as Manager on Duty as needed.
Know weekly ad items, direct customers to products throughout the store, and perform general department housekeeping.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
