About The Position

The Bulk Manager at Sprouts Farmers Market oversees the maintenance, packing, and stocking of bulk foods. The role ensures that bulk merchandise is prepared, packaged, scaled, priced, and presented accurately, while maintaining inventory, cleanliness, sanitation, and compliance with company and government requirements. The manager provides customer service, communicates standards and product knowledge, and leads the team to deliver high-quality products and a strong customer experience. The Bulk Manager recruits, hires, schedules, coaches, and evaluates team members, collaborates with the Store Manager on staffing decisions, and addresses team member concerns and performance issues. The role may serve as a store Key Carrier or Manager on Duty as needed.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
1–2 years of experience in a retail grocery environment and 1 year of managerial leadership experience.
Dependable and reliable, with the ability to work a changing, flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
Working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals.
Outgoing and friendly behavior and a positive attitude toward team members and customers.
Ability to move product weighing up to 50 pounds vertically and horizontally from 4 to 36 inches, across a distance of up to 4 feet, for up to 15 hours without mechanical assistance.
Ability to stand continuously for up to 4 hours, for a total of 8 hours per shift.

Responsibilities

Oversee maintenance, packing, and stocking of all bulk foods.
Follow the merchandising Bulk plan and ensure team members package and scale items, fill bulk bins, and prepare, wrap, and price packages accurately and legibly.
Order and maintain inventory, rotate products using code dates, and follow the company cleaning and sanitation program.
Ensure department compliance with company and governmental safety, health, Weights & Measures, and COOL regulations.
Communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members.
Provide a high level of customer service and ensure bulk items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented and the area remains clean and orderly.
Receive, unload, and stock merchandise as needed.
Coach, give feedback to, and develop team members; conduct bi-annual performance reviews and recommend merit increases.
Attend and participate in in-store meetings.
Recruit and hire team members and make promotion or transfer decisions in collaboration with the Store Manager.
Exercise independent judgment to address team member concerns and document corrective actions, collaborating with business and HR partners as needed.
Create and adjust schedules and staffing levels to maximize productivity and efficiency.
Lead the team in delivering quality products, service, and customer experiences.
Serve as a store Key Carrier and/or Manager on Duty as needed.
Know weekly advertised items, direct customers to products throughout the store, and perform general department housekeeping.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
