About The Position

The Bulk Clerk maintains, packs, and stocks bulk foods at Sprouts Farmers Market. The role includes packaging and weighing bulk items according to the merchandising plan, filling bulk bins, and preparing, wrapping, and accurately labeling and pricing packages. The clerk rotates products by code date and follows the company’s cleaning and sanitation program. The position also involves providing customer service, keeping the Bulk area clean, assisting the Bulk Manager as needed, maintaining equipment in safe working condition, and receiving, unloading, and stocking merchandise throughout the day. The job takes place in a fast-paced grocery retail environment.

Team members under age 18 may not use knives other than safety cutters, use ladders, operate garbage or cardboard compactors, operate motorized or electronically powered equipment (including manual pallet jacks), or work in coolers or freezers for prolonged periods.

Requirements

• Be at least 16 years of age.
• Be dependable and reliable, with the ability to work a flexible schedule that changes, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Show mutual respect for others and maintain a high ethical standard consistent with Sprouts’ culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Have a positive attitude and the ability to interact with customers.
• Have good communication skills and the ability to take direction and participate in a team environment.
• Be able to perform repetitive activities, multitask, prioritize, and stay organized.
• Be able to vertically and horizontally transfer product weighing up to 50 lbs. from 4 to 36 inches, for a distance of up to 4 feet, for up to 15 hours without mechanical assistance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, pack, and stock bulk foods.
• Follow the Bulk merchandising plan by packaging and scaling items, filling bulk bins, and preparing, wrapping, and accurately and legibly pricing packages.
• Rotate products using code dates.
• Follow the company’s cleaning and sanitation program and keep the Bulk area clean.
• Provide a high level of customer service and ensure Bulk items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented.
• Assist the Bulk Manager as needed.
• Maintain equipment in safe working condition.
• Receive, unload, and stock merchandise as needed throughout the day.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Adhere to safety, health, OSHA, and Weights and Measures regulations.
