About The Position

A Bulk Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market maintains, packages, and stocks bulk foods. The role follows the merchandising Bulk plan by packaging and scaling items, filling bulk bins, and preparing, wrapping, and accurately and legibly pricing packages. The clerk rotates product using code dates and follows the company’s cleaning and sanitation program. The position provides customer service, ensures bulk items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented, and keeps the Bulk area clean. The clerk assists the Bulk Manager as needed, maintains equipment in safe working condition, and receives, unloads, and stocks merchandise throughout the day as needed. This is a fast-paced retail role involving repetitive activities, multitasking, prioritizing, and teamwork. Team members under 18 are restricted from using knives other than safety cutters, using ladders, operating garbage or cardboard compactors or motor/electronically powered equipment (including manual pallet jacks), and working in coolers or freezers for prolonged periods.

Requirements

Be at least 16 years of age.
Be dependable and reliable, and able to work a flexible, changing schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.

Have a positive attitude and the ability to interact with customers.

Be able to perform repetitive activities, multitask, prioritize, and stay organized.
Be able to vertically and horizontally transfer product weighing up to 50 lbs. from 4 to 36 inches, for a distance up to 4 feet, for up to 15 hours without mechanical assistance.
Adhere to all safety, health, OSHA, and Weights and Measures regulations.

Responsibilities

Maintain, package, and stock bulk foods in accordance with the merchandising Bulk plan.
Package and scale bulk items, fill bulk bins, and prepare, wrap, and accurately and legibly price packages.
Rotate product using code dates and follow the company’s cleaning and sanitation program.
Provide customer service and ensure Bulk items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented.
Maintain cleanliness of the Bulk area at all times.
Assist the Bulk Manager as needed.
Maintain equipment in safe working condition.
Receive, unload, and stock merchandise as needed throughout the day.
Adhere to safety, health, OSHA, and Weights and Measures regulations.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
