About The Position

SANY’s Syracuse Academy of Science Charter Elementary School is hiring a Building Substitute Teacher for grades K–4 for the 2026–2027 academic year. The position supports classroom preparation and instruction, small-group learning and interventions, student supervision, and classroom management. The school welcomes experienced teachers and encourages novice teachers to apply.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Fingerprint clearance through the New York State Department of Education.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation and instruction.
• Work closely with small groups of students and provide intervention.
• Participate in weekly meetings and attend all school-wide events.
• Implement classroom policies and procedures.
• Lead students to and from specials and lunch.
• Effectively manage student behavior.
• Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
