About The Position
The Building Service Worker performs custodial work at the University of Illinois Chicago Health Sciences campus in Rockford, Illinois. The role keeps floors, walls, windows, furniture, and bathrooms clean and sanitary while maintaining housekeeping standards. The position is on-site and scheduled from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The collective bargaining agreement sets the hourly rate at $18.85. Illinois residency is required within 180 days of employment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Nice To Haves
- 1–3 years of janitorial experience.
Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain carpet and hard-surface floors.
- Clean and maintain toilet rooms.
- Pick up trash, including hazardous materials.
- Clean interior finishes and building components, including walls, windows, blinds, and light fixtures.
- Clean exterior entryways.
- Clean furniture.
- Move furniture and set up rooms for meetings and special events.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
