About The Position

Building Service Worker – Evening Shift. This is a 12-month, Non-Exempt position with AFSCME UA, Grade 3-4. Evening hours are to be determined based on school assignment. The role involves cleaning and caring for building interiors and exteriors, including floors, refuse collection, dusting, and grounds maintenance. It also includes assisting with supplies and equipment, and performing related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read and write effectively.
• Physically capable of performing manual labor.
• Good verbal communications and human relation skills.
• A willingness to work overtime as required in cases of emergency.
• Ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations.
• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds.
• Good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard.
• The employee frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and cares for floors.
• Collects refuse both inside and outside the building.
• Dusts and cleans walls, windows, ceilings, and equipment.
• Cares for exterior of building and grounds.
• Assists in receipt and relocation of supplies and equipment.
• Regular on time attendance.
• Performs related duties as assigned by the Supervisor of Operations or the School/Building Principal.
