About The Position

The Building Security Officer helps ensure a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable environment for United Center team members and guests by monitoring assigned areas. The role is on the 3rd shift, from 11:45 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., with Mondays and Tuesdays off. The officer monitors facility security, assists guests, enforces facility policies, documents incidents, and supports facility operations.

Requirements

Must be able to work well with large groups of people.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; must be able to speak, read, and comprehend English.
Basic knowledge of security programs.
Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
Ability to solve problems and handle situations with limited standardization.
Previous security, military, and/or law enforcement experience.
PERC Card certification.
Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

Create a safe and secure environment for guests and employees.
Monitor CCTV, door alarms, and alarm systems.
Report unsafe or unpresentable circumstances within the work area.
Assist guests, resolve concerns, provide exceptional customer service, and distribute promotional items.
Monitor facility security through patrols, stationed posts, and vehicle operations.
Conduct screenings of employees, contractors, and media using magnetometers.
Accurately document incidents and enforce facility policies to maintain safety and security.
Support facility operations by lifting and transporting items and maintaining knowledge of the facility layout and services.
