About The Position

The Building Science Analyst acts as a program's technical expert. This includes conducting desktop project verifications, ensuring Trade Ally adherence to the program, Department of Energy, and any additional state standards, providing guidance and training to participating trade allies, and using building rating and energy modeling tools. Develops technical training materials and conducts training for internal and external participants. Serves as organization technical spokesperson; approves technical communication and representation to partner programs, clients, regional technical forums/boards. Delivers trade ally training. Understands evaluation risks and develops and communicates strategies. QCs complex measure and modeling runs. Develops protocols for interpretation of specifications, guidelines, manuals, and technical requirements. Provide building science adjustments to measures from contractors. Ensure program designs reflect program installation guidelines. Develop technical training materials and conduct training sessions for internal and external participants. Serve as a technical spokesperson to customers and contractors alike. Deliver trade ally guidance and training. Evaluate and understand project risks. Assist in documenting observations regarding project scope, planning and effectiveness of products and services Assist in developing protocols for interpretation of specifications, guidelines, manuals and technical requirements. Assist in developing QA/QC protocols for field inspections and install documentation. Perform post-work inspections of contractor installed energy efficiency measures. Reviews documents for technical accuracy and sound building science practices. Attend and participate in required program meetings and training courses Ability to adapt to an ever-changing work environment Time and schedule management skills are a MUST.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience required (eg. HVAC, electrical, residential construction, building maintenance, general contracting, etc.)
  • BPI Building Analyst Professional (BA-P) certification or the ability to obtain a BA-P certification within the first 60 days of employment is required
  • Excellent communication, organizational, mathematical, and documentation skills; meticulous attention to detail
  • High school diploma
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Salesforce experience preferred
  • Knowledge with Energy Star, AHRI, and NREL Standard Work Specifications a plus
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the country where the position is located without the need for employer sponsorship or support.
  • Successful hires must pass pre-employment checks.
