About The Position

This is a paid summer internship opportunity for a college or graduate school student in Building Performance Engineering at HGA, a full-service planning and design firm. The internship is typically 12 weeks long, starting on or before June 1, 2027, and ending in mid-August. HGA is committed to sustainability, aiming to push beyond net zero energy to net positive energy and carbon reductions through participation in the SE2050 challenge. Requirements

Pursuing a degree in Architectural Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills, with a desire to learn in a collaborative environment.
A GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist with the preparation of engineering designs and construction documents under the guidance of licensed professionals.
Support the project team by performing basic engineering calculations and technical analysis.
Help research applicable building codes, standards, and regulations for project assignments.
Review reports, drawings, test results, and other project information to support planning and design activities.
Gain experience using Revit, Microsoft Office Suite, and other industry software tools to develop project deliverables.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other team members in a team-oriented environment.
Participate in project meetings and learn about the design and construction process.
Have opportunities to visit construction sites to observe field conditions and gain firsthand exposure to project implementation.
