About The Position
Summer 2027 - Electrical Engineering Internship Opportunity at HGA! This is a paid summer internship for college or graduate school students, typically 12 weeks in length, beginning on or before June 1, 2027, through mid-August. HGA is a full-service planning and design firm with over 1,000 professionals offering planning, engineering, architecture, and interior design services. They are committed to meeting client sustainability goals and pushing beyond net zero energy to carbon reductions through participation in the SE2050 challenge. Requirements
- Entering your junior year or above of an undergraduate program, or currently enrolled in graduate school.
- Experience with electrical analysis software such as ETAP, EasyPower, DAPPER, or CAPTOR.
- Knowledge of AGi32 and/or Visual Pro.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Pursuing a degree in Architectural Engineering (with an emphasis in electrical systems) or Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with Revit is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with innovative lighting designs that balance aesthetics and technical performance.
- Supporting the design of power distribution and lighting systems for commercial, institutional, and healthcare facilities.
- Performing electrical engineering calculations and technical analyses.
- Researching applicable codes and regulations and coordinating with city, county, and state officials.
- Reviewing reports, drawings, test results, and design documentation.
- Utilizing industry-standard engineering and design software to support project delivery.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on projects from concept through implementation.
