About The Position

Stella Maris is seeking a Building Mechanic to perform maintenance duties in and around its buildings and to construct, repair, and maintain related equipment. The role completes assigned work orders involving mechanical, non-mechanical, and electrical equipment, following departmental standards and procedures, manufacturer specifications, and safety practices. The mechanic monitors equipment during checks and daily work, reports problems promptly, documents completed work, maintains a safe and efficient work area, and may independently handle tasks requiring expertise in a specialized trade. The schedule is Friday and Saturday, 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. The stated pay range is $23.80 to $35.80 per hour. Compensation decisions consider internal equity, role scope, and market data; new hires are typically placed in the lower-to-middle portion of the range, with higher offers reserved for advanced or highly specialized qualifications.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned daily work orders, including repairs and maintenance of mechanical, non-mechanical, and electrical equipment, in a safe and timely manner and according to departmental standards, procedures, and manufacturers’ specifications.
• Observe mechanical devices such as pumps, motors, and engines during equipment-check rotations and daily activity, and notify supervisors of problems immediately.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of work performed and submit paperwork at the end of the shift.
• Maintain a safe and efficient work area.
• Independently complete assigned projects or tasks requiring expertise in a specialized trade when requested, safely, accurately, and in a timely manner.
• Estimate required material quantities accurately and ensure adequate time for ordering.
