About The Position

The Building Maintenance Mechanic performs construction and maintenance work that is not handled by the Engineering Department or outside contractors. The position requires demonstrating competency in on-the-job activities that may directly or indirectly affect product safety, legality, or quality. The mechanic maintains the building and the plant’s overall physical appearance, assists Engineering personnel as needed, and carries out other assigned duties while following company policies and procedures.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Vocational or technical training in areas such as carpentry, masonry, plumbing, wiring, or floor covering, or equivalent on-the-job training and experience.
Ability to operate hand and power tools and other equipment and materials used in building maintenance.
Ability to stand, stoop, squat, bend, reach, and hold positions for extended periods.
Ability to pick up, hold, and move building and maintenance items weighing up to 75 pounds.
Ability to enter, drive, and exit vehicles used by the Engineering Department.

Nice To Haves

Three to five years of experience in the building trades.
Thorough familiarity with building maintenance areas not maintained by Engineering Department personnel.

Responsibilities

Perform building maintenance and repairs.
Maintain the overall physical appearance of the plant.
Assist Engineering personnel as necessary.

Fulfill work schedules and comply with attendance policies and applicable operating rules, policies, and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned or deemed integral to the job.
