About The Position

The Building Materials Technician reports to the Building Materials Manager for daily instructions. Work functions may change throughout the workday and revolve around the daily operations of the building material yard. The role includes handling and organizing materials, preparing orders, making jobsite deliveries, fabricating rebar, and maintaining the yard and grounds. The technician is expected to work safely, communicate clearly, and continue developing in alignment with the Company’s core values, competencies, and skills.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to work well in a team and complete tasks independently with little supervision.
• Ability and willingness to learn and be trained to safely operate all equipment.
• Accountability.
• Ability to communicate clearly with supervision, coworkers, and customers in the field.
• Ability to work between 8 and 10 hours per day.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, pour, or carry heavy objects and loads of materials; walk and stand for long periods; and bend, stoop, squat, climb, and reach to move materials and perform repairs.

Nice To Haves

• At least 1 year of experience working in construction, manufacturing, or a similar industry.
• CDL.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload materials on delivery trucks.
• Make deliveries to commercial and residential jobsites on non-CDL flatbed trucks.
• Organize and stock material in the warehouse.
• Pull material orders.
• Fabricate rebar.
• Perform general yard maintenance and groundskeeping.
• Carry out additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• Maintain a safe work environment.
• Communicate clearly with supervisors, coworkers, and customers in the field.
