About The Position

Nebraska Furniture Mart is hiring a Building Maintenance Technician II to maintain buildings, grounds, and equipment so the business operates efficiently. The role works overnight on a rotating schedule and supports upkeep of the facility through lighting replacement and upgrades, grounds care, building repairs, work-order documentation, and maintenance of mechanical rooms and equipment. The position requires the ability to work nights, weekends, and/or early mornings based on business needs.

Requirements

Able to work the overnight shift from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. on a rotating schedule.
One year of building maintenance, custodial, general, or labor experience.
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
Ability to work night, weekend, and/or early morning hours based on business needs.
Pre-employment screening includes, but is not limited to, a criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED.
Technical or trade school classes in a related field.
Basic carpentry skills and electrical knowledge.
Painting skills and plumbing knowledge.

Responsibilities

Replace lights and ballasts in fluorescent fixtures while upgrading them to higher-efficiency retrofits.
Perform lawn care, including mowing, trimming, edging, and raking; landscaping; snow removal; and ice treatment.
Paint, patch, and caulk building structures, rooms, and equipment.
Complete work orders and enter job notes.
Maintain mechanical rooms and equipment.
