About The Position
The purpose of this position is to oversee the upkeep of City buildings, structures. This is primarily accomplished by making repairs, obtaining materials and parts, and pricing equipment to be used for maintenance. An offer of employment is contingent upon successful clearance of a fingerprint screening. If the incumbent fails to obtain clearance through the fingerprint screening, they will not be able to access all necessary City buildings and therefore, may be subject to termination.
Requirements
- Carpentry principles and practices
- Plumbing principles and practices
- Electrical principles and practices
- Applicable local, state and federal laws, rules, and regulations
- Valid North Carolina Driver’s License.
- Applicants must meet the City criteria for an acceptable driving record.
Responsibilities
- Travels and maintains and repairs City facilities.
- Performs basic carpentry, building and plumbing repairs.
- Inventories and purchases material needed for projects.
- Performs regular maintenance and servicing of shop and hand tool equipment.
- Maintains reports and daily logs of work progress.
- Rotational on-call responsibilities.
- Performs other similar duties as required.
