About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic I performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge in such trades as painting, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and masonry work. Work can involve, but is not limited to, a variety of the following duties: Replacing motors. Using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceiling. Repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets. Painting structures and equipment. Repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks. Replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles. Hanging doors and installing door locks. And performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery. Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance.
  • Minimum of five years of general maintenance experience required.
  • Ability to lift up to 45 lbs.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.) preferred.
