About The Position

American National is hiring two Building Maintenance Engineers for its Facilities team in League City, Texas, at either Level I or Level II. The appropriate level will be determined based on the applicant’s experience and qualifications. The role helps maintain building systems and equipment so the workplace operates safely and efficiently. Level I employees receive detailed instruction on new projects and assignments; Level II employees normally receive little instruction on day-to-day work.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Building Maintenance Engineer I: 1–2 years of related experience.
• Building Maintenance Engineer II: 4–6 years of related experience.
• Clean driver's license.
• For Level I, comfort performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting while continuing to develop skills.
• For Level II, comfort handling day-to-day maintenance responsibilities with greater independence.

Nice To Haves

• Third Grade Engineer License for Building Maintenance Engineer I.
• Second Grade Engineer License for Building Maintenance Engineer II.
• Systems Maintenance Technician (SMT) designation or equivalent.
• Systems Maintenance Administrator (SMA) designation or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine operational maintenance on building equipment, including start-up and shutdown procedures.
• Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building maintenance issues.
• Respond to facility maintenance requests and work orders.
• Perform assigned preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Conduct lighting inspections, maintain bulb inventory, and replace bulbs routinely.
• Evaluate maintenance issues and determine appropriate solutions, with assistance and supervision as needed.
• Participate in rotating on-call responsibilities.
• Assist with storm preparation.
• Respond to emergency fire and security alarms during regular business hours and after hours.
