About The Position

The Building Maintenance Engineer will be a key part of our team at Galleria Dallas, a premier mixed-use shopping and entertainment destination. With over 200 retailers and restaurants, the Galleria is a vibrant hub for the community and a top destination for visitors. The Building Maintenance Engineer, reporting to the Chief Engineer, is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on the mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and structural systems of the shopping center.

Requirements

• A minimum of 2-5 years of building maintenance experience with skills in carpentry, HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing.
• Basic knowledge of electrical systems, fire protection hydraulic and alarm systems.
• The ability to read and interpret plans and schematic drawings is required.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• A self-starter with the ability to work independently, diagnose equipment problems, and apply common sense to solve issues.
• A High School Diploma or GED is preferred, along with technical school certifications.
• A valid Driver's License is required.

Responsibilities

• Routinely inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance on pumps, fans, and air handling units (AHUs), and clean cooling towers.
• Conduct monthly fire pump and generator testing.
• Regularly inspect facility systems, replace filters, and grease components as needed.
• Maintain logs to document maintenance activities and ensure proper inventory of supplies, equipment, and tools.
• Perform a variety of maintenance and repair tasks, including painting, drywall, and basic carpentry.
• Adhere to all applicable standards and regulatory guidelines, including OSHA, to maintain a safe working environment.
• Assist other departments, such as Marketing with event setup, and work collaboratively to ensure the smooth operation of the property.
