About The Position

The Temporary Building Maintenance Assistant will be responsible for assisting with the maintenance of all event spaces and overall appearance of buildings. This is a temporary 6-month full-time position based in CFR’s New York City office. This role is required to be onsite Monday through Friday from 12pm to 8pm with flexibility to work on weekends.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years experience in facilities/building maintenance in a high-profile organization or cultural institutions.
  • At least 3 years experience in floor care and painting.
  • Familiarity of building operating systems, i.e. HVAC, plumbing, electrical.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds (i.e. – chairs, tables, office furniture, etc.)
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Highest level of dependability and professionalism
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail with proven ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work independently and on a team
  • Positive, proactive, flexible, results-oriented team player
  • Availability to work flexible and long hours

Responsibilities

  • Set-up and breakdown of furniture and equipment in event spaces.
  • Coordinating building services such as HVAC adjustments, lighting & AV equipment set-up and furniture adjustments CFR & Rental event activities
  • Cleaning interior and exterior building areas including but not limited to sidewalk debris removal.
  • Identify and perform general maintenance and repairs throughout the building
  • Perform floor and wall maintenance including stripping and waxing floors, carpet cleaning, wall patching and painting
  • Assisting with other related duties as requested or required.
