About The Position

Inspects residential and commercial buildings and plans for compliance with the County building and zoning codes.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or successful completion of the equivalent GED.
  • Two (2) years of experience in construction or building inspection, or any equivalent combination of experience, education and training which ensures the ability to perform the work may substitute for the above.
  • Must possess the following Oregon Certificates: Oregon Inspector Certification (OIC), Structural Inspector A Level (SIA), Residential Structural Inspector (CAS), A Level Plans Examiner (PEA), Residential Plans Examiner (CAX), A Level Mechanical Inspector (MIA), and Residential Plumbing Inspector (CAP) at time of hire.
  • Must have the ability to obtain Residential Electrical Inspector (CAE) and Fire and Life Safety Certification (PEF) within 12 months of hire.
  • Possession of valid Oregon driver's license at time of appointment.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference given to those who also possess State of Oregon Certificates for A Level Electrical Inspector, or A Level Plumbing Inspector.
