About The Position

Join Sabey Corporation as a Building Facilities Engineer (internally titled Building Engineer II) supporting a diverse portfolio of commercial properties in Seattle's Cherry Hill neighborhood. In this hands-on role, you'll partner with the Chief Building Engineer, Property Manager, tenants, and vendors to keep critical building systems operating safely and efficiently. From preventative maintenance and vendor oversight to troubleshooting HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems, you'll play a key role in delivering an exceptional tenant experience while building your career with a stable, growth-oriented organization. Another Source's client, Sabey Corporation, is recruiting a Building Facilities Engineer (internally titled Building Engineer II) to join their team in Seattle's Cherry Hill neighborhood. This role is critical to ensuring Sabey’s properties operate safely, efficiently, and at the high standard tenants rely on every day. You’ll be at the center of day-to-day building operations- partnering with vendors, supporting tenants, and maintaining the systems that keep everything running smoothly.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in building services or facilities operations
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license with a clean driving record and active auto insurance
  • Strong knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire life safety
  • Ability to read and interpret floor plans, schematics, and technical documents
  • Working knowledge of Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems for HVAC
  • Experience with Yardi (preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and with external partners
  • Proven ability to prioritize, multi-task, and manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment
  • Customer-service mindset with a focus on responsiveness and quality
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, especially related to building systems
  • Knowledge of safety, environmental, and security procedures and practices
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional growth

Responsibilities

  • Responding to tenant requests and coordinating property management services
  • Supervising and inspecting work performed by contractors and vendors (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, janitorial, etc.)
  • Ensuring preventative maintenance is completed fully and on schedule
  • Monitoring building operations to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance with established goals
  • Developing scopes of work and partnering with vendors to support budgeting and project execution
  • Conducting routine inspections of common areas, mechanical systems, and tenant spaces
  • Maintaining organized records including operating logs, contracts, and maintenance documentation
  • Overseeing Fire Life Safety programs and serving as Fire Director, including emergency response coordination
  • Managing inventory of tools, supplies, and building materials
  • Coordinating tenant move-ins and move-outs, including vendor and contractor access
  • Supporting budget planning through repair, maintenance, and capital project input
  • Operating and monitoring energy management systems and performing system tests/audits
  • Ensuring property safety during seasonal events (e.g., snow removal, drainage)
  • Participating in on-call engineering duties as assigned
  • Supporting after-hours response with documented procedures for critical building systems
  • Coordinating and monitoring security systems and vendor activities
  • Creating and submitting incident reports as required
  • Inspecting building exterior elements including rooftops, parking areas, and structural components
  • Utilizing Yardi systems for purchase orders, invoices, inspections, and maintenance tracking
  • Reviewing tenant improvement drawings and providing feedback as needed
  • Monitoring quality of exterior vendor services (landscaping, cleaning, pest control, etc.)
  • Participating in team initiatives and embodying Sabey’s core values
  • Supporting special projects as assigned
