About The Position
Under general supervision of the Facilities Manager, assists in the maintenance and cleaning of all City operated facilities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Two years of experience in custodial or related duties
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques
- Knowledge of safety practices
- Knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
- Great responsibility for the care, condition, and use of materials, equipment, money, and/or tools
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to understand and follow directions
- Must pass drug test before hire
Nice To Haves
- Experience using automated equipment preferred
- Ability to use a personal computer for word processing and other applicable applications is desirable
Responsibilities
- Assisting the Facilities Manager in keeping City facilities clean
- Ensuring the safety of City employees and visiting public as related to the performance of duties
- Operating cleaning equipment such as vacuums, buffers, and carpet extractors
- Using a wide variety of hand and power tools
- Using a personal computer for word processing and other applicable applications is desirable
