Building Automation Systems Technician II (BAS)
About The Position
The Building Automation Systems Technician II develops controls databases, graphics, and programming sequences based on direction from a Design Specialist, project specifications, or other applicable sources. The role provides hands-on startup and commissioning support for building automation projects, including point-to-point checkout. It uses building controls platforms such as Distech, Alerton, or Tridium and requires a solid understanding of electrical circuitry. The technician commissions, configures, and troubleshoots BACnet MSTP and/or BACnet IP systems; supports installation personnel, contractors, and project managers at project sites; and debugs installation issues during static and dynamic startup and commissioning. The role also supports Climatec and other contractors in resolving building operating issues beyond controls or special systems operation. It maintains accurate project documentation and helps ensure systems operate efficiently and meet building codes and client needs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least 3 years of experience working with Tridium and/or Distech building controls, including field commissioning, servicing, and troubleshooting.
- At least 3 years of BACnet MSTP experience with commissioning, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- At least 3 years of experience with controls programming and building automation controls database management.
- At least 3 years of experience troubleshooting basic electric and electronic circuitry, including reading and interpreting electrical and electronic diagrams.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Distech, Alerton, or Tridium platforms is preferred.
Responsibilities
