Building Automation Systems Technician I (BAS)
About The Position
HTS Engineering Ltd. is an independent commercial HVAC manufacturers’ representative with 20 locations in the United States and Canada. The Building Automation Systems Technician I develops control databases, graphics, and programming sequences and provides hands-on startup and commissioning support for building automation projects. The role uses knowledge of electrical circuitry and building automation platforms to troubleshoot installation issues, maintain accurate project documentation, and help ensure systems operate efficiently and meet building codes and client needs. The technician reports to the hiring manager.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least 1 year of experience working with Alerton, Tridium, and/or Distech building controls, including field commissioning, servicing, or troubleshooting.
- At least 1 year of BACnet MSTP experience with commissioning, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- At least 1 year of experience with programming and building automation controls database management.
- At least 1 year of experience troubleshooting basic electrical and electronic circuitry, including reading and interpreting electrical and electronic diagrams.
- At least 1 year of proven field experience in building automation controls programming, network integration, and system commissioning.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Distech, Alerton, or Tridium.
Responsibilities
- Develop controls databases, graphics, and programming for sequences based on direction from the Design Specialist, project specifications, or other applicable sources.
- Provide controls system startup and commissioning support, including point-to-point checkout, on assigned projects.
- Configure and troubleshoot BACnet MSTP and/or BACnet IP systems.
- Troubleshoot installation issues and basic electrical and electronic circuitry.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and help ensure systems operate efficiently and meet building codes and client needs.
