About The Position

Siemens Smart Buildings Internship Program is seeking a Building Automation Systems Project Management Intern for Summer 2027. This internship offers hands-on experience in managing construction projects, understanding sales processes, and learning about service-related tasks within the building automation field. Interns will rotate through core business segments including HVAC, Fire/Life Safety, Security, and Energy/Sustainability Systems. The program aims to develop future talent for Siemens and help interns identify potential career paths within the organization post-graduation.

Requirements

  • Must be current enrollment as an undergraduate at an accredited 4-year U.S. college or university.
  • Pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Energy/Sustainability and Built Environment.
  • Ability to work 40-hours per week for the 10-week program (May - July or June - August).
  • Must be located within 50 miles of office location with access to a reliable vehicle.
  • This program does not support students on a Visa such as F1, J1, M1 and H1B as well as OPT/CPT.

Nice To Haves

  • Must be able to use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet.
  • Skilled in using Windows laptops and adept at learning new software for programming and troubleshooting automation equipment.
  • Ability to work in a team environment providing dedicated support to our customers.
  • Demonstrated leadership potential.
  • Strong analytical, writing, presentation and critical thinking skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

  • Review project specifications, drawings, and project-specific documents to establish a project delivery plan.
  • Develop and maintain a project schedule, as well as coordinate needs with the project team, identifying time-sensitive installation needs.
  • Manage the procurement of supplies and materials to complete projects.
  • Participate in project cost reviews.
  • Track labor resources and project progress.
  • Pursue project-specific change-order opportunities.
  • Complete project-specific close-out documentation.
  • Rotate through other departments within the branch office to learn about how our branch organization operates as a whole.

Benefits

  • Hourly pay range for this position is $24 per hour for first-time Interns or $28 per hour for returning Interns.
  • Eligible to contribute into our 401K program.
