About The Position

The Budtender greets patients and adult-use customers on the sales floor and/or at checkout, assists with placing orders, confirms purchased products, and completes sales by cash or card with careful attention to detail. The role provides excellent customer care and service while supporting sales-floor operations, inventory and merchandise accountability, cash reconciliation, and dispensary cleanliness. Budtenders must follow applicable state and federal regulations and may be assigned other duties as needed. This is a full-time role requiring availability for varied hours and days, including days, nights, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. The position involves standing or sitting for long periods and lifting and bending.

Requirements

Six months to one year of sales or point-of-sale experience is preferred.
Proficiency with technology, tablets, and computers.
Ability to pass a federal background check.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must possess a valid license or state ID.
Must be available to work varied hours and/or days, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to operate point-of-sale software.
Attention to detail; organization and patience.
Ability to multitask, listen, and work under pressure while maintaining composure.
Ability to meet the needs of customers, patients, and coworkers without constant supervision.
Good memory and recall.
Exceptional customer-service skills and a friendly, warm, and welcoming personality.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with staff and customers.
Ability to work as a team player.
Ability to bend and lift up to 50 pounds independently and 75 or more pounds with a buddy.
Ability to stand or sit for long periods.

Responsibilities

Greet patients on the sales floor and/or at checkout and verify purchased products.
Stay current with dispensary operations and product information.
Complete cash or card sales at the register.
Maintain responsibility for cash and credit-card transactions, assigned inventory and merchandise, and drawer closing totals.
Perform cash and credit-card transactions and issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to patients.
Answer phone calls, take messages, and direct calls to the appropriate person.
Assist with online product reservations.
Assist with daily cash reconciliation.
Keep the dispensary sales floor clean, sanitized, and free of clutter.
Follow state and federal regulations, including applicable IDFPR requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
