About The Position

The Bucket Operator performs tree pruning and removal services for major electric utility providers. The work includes climbing trees using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS systems, pruning treetops, repairing damaged trees, and removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects. The role applies tree-identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines, maintains and operates tools and equipment, and works as an active crew member alongside the ground crew and foreperson. The position is permanent, full-time, and onsite, with travel expectations of up to 25%.

Requirements

Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving course upon hire.
Valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

Commercial Driver’s License—Class A or B with Airbrake Endorsement.
Line clearance experience or other related tree work.
Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law.
ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional®.

Responsibilities

Climb trees using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS climbing systems.
Safely and skillfully perform tree pruning and removal services for major electric utility providers.
Prune treetops and repair damaged trees through trimming or removal.
Remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects.
Apply tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines.
Maintain, prepare, and operate tools and equipment, including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
Work as an active crew member with the supporting ground crew and foreperson.
